LIBRARY RULES
(Excerpt from the Library Rules issued under Decision No. 866/QĐ-ĐNT dated 13 July 2023
of the Rector of Ho Chi Minh City University of Foreign Languages and Information Technology)
1. The Library serves all lecturers, staff and students who have worked or studied, or are currently working or studying, at the University, as well as organizations and individuals affiliated with the University (collectively referred to as library users or readers).
2. When entering the Library, users must present a valid card and check in at the circulation desk (lecturer card, staff card, employee card, student card, trainee card, citizen ID card, or letter of introduction). Users must not lend their card to others or use someone else's card to enter the Library.
3. Users may borrow a locker key at the circulation desk to store bags and personal belongings; users are responsible for their own belongings while in the Library, and must lock the locker before returning the key to the circulation desk.
4. Users must dress appropriately and help keep the Library clean and quiet; do not talk loudly, make noise or take phone calls in the Library, and keep phones on vibrate mode. Do not bring food or drinks (except bottled water) into the Library. Do not bring flammable or explosive items into the Library; smoking is strictly prohibited.
5. Users may freely choose materials to read on site; to borrow materials for home use, please contact library staff at the circulation desk.
6. Users must take care of the Library's materials and property and must not take them out of the Library without permission; do not swap, tear, cut, damage, write or draw on library materials. Do not copy materials without permission; if you need copies, contact library staff at the circulation desk for guidance. Do not move, dismantle or damage the Library's equipment and machines.
7. Users who need to use computers or the Library's dedicated reading rooms must register in advance at the circulation desk.
8. Before receiving their degree, withdrawing from the University, transferring or leaving their job, users must settle any outstanding obligations (if any) with the Library.
9. The Library reserves the right to refuse service to users showing signs of having consumed alcohol or other stimulants.

11. Readers who need to use computers and the internet must register at the circulation desk and comply with the Library's computer use rules.
12. Library opening hours:
· Monday – Friday · Saturday
Sư Vạn Hạnh campus · 08:00 – 20:00 · 08:00 - 17:00
Hóc Môn campus · 07:30 – 18:00 · 07:30 – 16:00
Closed on Sundays and public holidays, including Tết, as regulated.
13. Readers who violate these rules will be subject to disciplinary action under the University's regulations, depending on the severity of the violation.
